กษัตริย์ดาวิดทรงมั่งคั่งบริบูรณ์ (2 ซมอ 5:11-25)
14:1 บัดนี้ฮีรามกษัตริย์แห่งเมืองไทระได้ทรงส่งพวกผู้สื่อสารมาเฝ้าดาวิด และไม้สนซีดาร์ทั้งหลาย พร้อมกับพวกช่างก่อและพวกช่างไม้ เพื่อจะสร้างพระราชวังหลังหนึ่งให้พระองค์

David Prospers as King (2 Sam. 5:11-25)
14:1 Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.

14:2 และดาวิดทรงรับรู้ว่า พระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงสถาปนาพระองค์ให้เป็นกษัตริย์เหนืออิสราเอลแล้ว เพราะราชอาณาจักรของพระองค์ถูกยกย่องอย่างยิ่ง เพื่อเห็นแก่อิสราเอลประชากรของพระองค์

14:2 And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.

14:3 และดาวิดทรงรับพวกมเหสีเพิ่มขึ้นที่กรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และดาวิดทรงให้กำเนิดเหล่าราชโอรสและราชธิดาอีก

14:3 And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.

14:4 บัดนี้เหล่านี้เป็นชื่อของเหล่าโอรสของพระองค์ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงมีในเยรูซาเล็มคือ ชัมมูอา และโชบับ นาธัน และซาโลมอน

14:4 Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

14:5 และอิบฮาร์ และเอลีชูอา และเอลเปเลท

14:5 And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,

14:6 และโนกาห์ และเนเฟก และยาเฟีย

14:6 And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

14:7 และเอลีชามา และเบเอลยาดา และเอลีเฟเลท

14:7 And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.

14:8 และเมื่อคนฟีลิสเตียได้ยินว่า ดาวิดทรงรับการเจิมเป็นกษัตริย์เหนืออิสราเอลทั้งสิ้นแล้ว คนฟีลิสเตียทั้งหมดก็ขึ้นไปเพื่อค้นหาดาวิด และดาวิดทรงได้ยินเรื่องนั้น และได้เสด็จออกไปต่อสู้กับพวกเขา

14:8 And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.

14:9 และคนฟีลิสเตียยกทัพขึ้นมา และกระจายกำลังออกในหุบเขาแห่งเรฟาอิม

14:9 And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

14:10 และดาวิดทรงทูลถามพระเจ้า โดยทูลว่า “ข้าพระองค์จะยกทัพขึ้นไปต่อสู้กับคนฟีลิสเตียหรือ และพระองค์จะทรงมอบพวกเขาไว้ในมือของข้าพระองค์หรือไม่” และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับพระองค์ว่า “จงขึ้นไปเถิด เพราะเราจะมอบพวกเขาไว้ในมือของเจ้า”

14:10 And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.

14:11 ดังนั้นพวกเขาจึงขึ้นมายังบาอัลเปราซิม และดาวิดทรงโจมตีพวกเขาที่นั่น แล้วดาวิดตรัสว่า “พระเจ้าได้ทรงทะลวงพวกข้าศึกของเราโดยมือของเราเหมือนอย่างการพุ่งใส่ของกระแสน้ำทั้งหลาย” เพราะฉะนั้นพวกเขาจึงเรียกชื่อสถานที่นั้นว่า บาอัลเปราซิม

14:11 So they came up to Baalperazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baalperazim.

14:12 และเมื่อพวกเขาได้ทิ้งพวกพระของพวกเขาเสียที่นั่นแล้ว ดาวิดทรงมีพระบัญชา และพระเหล่านั้นก็ถูกเผาเสียด้วยไฟ

14:12 And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

14:13 และคนฟีลิสเตียกระจายกำลังออกในหุบเขานั้นอีก

14:13 And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.

14:14 ฉะนั้นดาวิดจึงทูลถามพระเจ้าอีก และพระเจ้าตรัสกับพระองค์ว่า “อย่าขึ้นตามพวกเขาไป จงอ้อมไปข้างหลังพวกเขา และมาประชิดกับพวกเขาตรงข้ามกับหมู่ต้นหม่อน

14:14 Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

14:15 และต่อมา เมื่อเจ้าได้ยินเสียงขบวนทัพเดินอยู่ในยอดหมู่ต้นหม่อนแล้ว เมื่อนั้นเจ้าจงออกไปทำศึก เพราะว่าพระเจ้าได้เสด็จไปข้างหน้าเจ้า เพื่อจะโจมตีกองทัพของคนฟีลิสเตีย”

14:15 And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.

14:16 ฉะนั้นดาวิดได้ทรงกระทำตามที่พระเจ้าได้ทรงบัญชาพระองค์ไว้ และพวกเขาโจมตีกองทัพของคนฟีลิสเตียจากเมืองกิเบโอนจนถึงเมืองเกเซอร์

14:16 David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.

14:17 และกิตติศัพท์ของดาวิดก็เลื่องลือไปสู่แผ่นดินทั้งสิ้น และพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงนำความครั่นคร้ามต่อดาวิดมาสู่ประชาชาติทั้งสิ้น

14:17 And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.
