29:1 ยิ่งกว่านั้น โยบก็กล่าวคำอุปมาของท่านต่อไปและพูดว่า

29:1 Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,

29:2 “โอ ข้าอยากเป็นเหมือนในหลายเดือนที่ผ่านไป เหมือนอย่างในสมัยเมื่อพระเจ้าทรงพิทักษ์รักษาข้าไว้

29:2 Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me;

29:3 เมื่อประทีปของพระองค์ส่องเหนือศีรษะของข้า และเมื่อข้าเดินฝ่าความมืดไปด้วยความสว่างของพระองค์

29:3 When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness;

29:4 เหมือนอย่างที่ข้าเคยเป็นในวันทั้งหลายแห่งวัยหนุ่มของข้า เมื่อความลึกลับของพระเจ้าเคยอยู่เหนือเต็นท์ของข้า

29:4 As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle;

29:5 เมื่อองค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์ยังอยู่กับข้า เมื่อลูก ๆ ของข้าเคยห้อมล้อมข้า

29:5 When the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me;

29:6 เมื่อข้าล้างบรรดาย่างเท้าของข้าด้วยเนย และศิลาเทบรรดาแม่น้ำแห่งน้ำมันออกให้ข้า

29:6 When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil;

29:7 เมื่อข้าผ่านนครไปยังประตูเมือง เมื่อข้าเตรียมที่นั่งของข้าไว้ในถนน

29:7 When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street!

29:8 คนหนุ่ม ๆ เห็นข้า และซ่อนตัวเสีย และคนสูงอายุลุกและยืนขึ้น

29:8 The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up.

29:9 พวกประมุขหยุดพูด และเอามือของตนปิดปากของตนไว้

29:9 The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth.

29:10 พวกขุนนางก็สงบลง และลิ้นของพวกเขาก็เกาะติดเพดานปากของพวกเขา

29:10 The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.

29:11 เมื่อหูได้ยินข้าแล้ว มันก็อวยพรข้า และเมื่อตาเห็นข้าแล้ว มันก็เป็นพยานต่อข้า

29:11 When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me:

29:12 Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.

29:13 พรของคนที่จวนจะพินาศก็มาถึงข้า และข้าเป็นเหตุให้ใจของหญิงม่ายร้องเพลงด้วยความชื่นบาน

29:13 The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.

29:14 ข้าเคยสวมความชอบธรรม และมันก็ห่อหุ้มข้าไว้ ความยุติธรรมของข้าเคยเป็นเหมือนเสื้อคลุมยาวและผ้าโพกศีรษะ

29:14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem.

29:15 ข้าเคยเป็นนัยน์ตาให้คนตาบอด และข้าเคยเป็นเท้าให้คนง่อย

29:15 I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame.

29:16 ข้าเคยเป็นบิดาให้คนขัดสน และข้าได้สอบสวนเรื่องซึ่งข้าไม่รู้จัก

29:16 I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.

29:17 และข้าได้หักขากรรไกรของคนชั่ว และได้ดึงเอาของริบออกมาจากฟันของเขา

29:17 And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.

29:18 แล้วข้าได้กล่าวว่า ‘ข้าจะตายในรังของข้า และข้าจะทวีวันทั้งหลายของข้าเหมือนอย่างทราย

29:18 Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the sand.

29:19 รากของข้าได้แผ่ออกไปข้างน้ำทั้งหลาย และน้ำค้างเกาะอยู่บนกิ่งของข้าตลอดคืน

29:19 My root was spread out by the waters, and the dew lay all night upon my branch.

29:20 สง่าราศีของข้าเคยสดชื่นอยู่ในข้า และคันธนูของข้าก็เคยใหม่เสมออยู่ในมือข้า’

29:20 My glory was fresh in me, and my bow was renewed in my hand.

29:21 คนทั้งหลายเคยเงี่ยหูฟังข้าและคอยอยู่ และเงียบอยู่ฟังคำปรึกษาของข้า

29:21 Unto me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel.

29:22 หลังจากบรรดาถ้อยคำของข้าแล้ว พวกเขาก็ไม่พูดอีกเลย และคำกล่าวของข้าก็กลั่นลงมาเหนือพวกเขา

29:22 After my words they spake not again; and my speech dropped upon them.

29:23 และพวกเขาได้คอยข้าเหมือนคอยฝน และพวกเขาได้อ้าปากของตนกว้างเหมือนอย่างรอรับน้ำฝนชุกปลายฤดู

29:23 And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.

29:24 ถ้าข้าได้หัวเราะเยาะพวกเขา พวกเขาก็มิได้เชื่อ และความผ่องใสแห่งสีหน้าของข้า พวกเขาก็มิได้ทำให้หม่นหมองลง

29:24 If I laughed on them, they believed it not; and the light of my countenance they cast not down.

29:25 ข้าได้เลือกทางให้พวกเขา และได้นั่งเป็นหัวหน้า และเคยอาศัยอยู่เหมือนอย่างกษัตริย์องค์หนึ่งในกองทัพ เหมือนอย่างผู้ที่ปลอบโยนบรรดาคนที่คร่ำครวญ”

29:25 I chose out their way, and sat chief, and dwelt as a king in the army, as one that comforteth the mourners.
