การปั้นภาชนะที่เสียแล้วให้เป็นภาชนะอีกลูกหนึ่ง
18:1 พระวจนะซึ่งมายังเยเรมีย์จากพระเยโฮวาห์ โดยตรัสว่า

Marred Vessel Remade
18:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

18:2 “จงลุกขึ้น และลงไปที่บ้านของช่างหม้อ และที่นั่นเราจะทำให้เจ้าได้ยินบรรดาถ้อยคำของเรา”

18:2 Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.

18:3 แล้วข้าพเจ้าจึงลงไปที่บ้านของช่างหม้อ และดูเถิด เขากำลังทำงานอันหนึ่งอยู่บนแป้นเวียนทั้งหลาย

18:3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.

18:4 และภาชนะที่เขาทำด้วยดินเหนียวก็เสียอยู่ในมือของช่างหม้อ ดังนั้นเขาจึงปั้นภาชนะนั้นให้เป็นภาชนะอีกลูกหนึ่ง ตามที่ช่างหม้อเห็นว่าดี

18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

18:5 แล้วพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้า โดยตรัสว่า

18:5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

18:6 “โอ วงศ์วานแห่งอิสราเอลเอ๋ย เราจะกระทำแก่พวกเจ้าอย่างที่ช่างหม้อนี้กระทำไม่ได้หรือ พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัส ดูเถิด ดินเหนียวอยู่ในมือของช่างหม้อฉันใด พวกเจ้าก็อยู่ในมือของเราฉันนั้น โอ วงศ์วานแห่งอิสราเอลเอ๋ย

18:6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

18:7 ถ้าเวลาใดก็ตามเราจะประกาศเกี่ยวกับประชาชาติหนึ่ง และเกี่ยวกับราชอาณาจักรหนึ่งว่า จะถอนขึ้น และจะพังลง และจะทำลายมันเสีย

18:7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;

18:8 และถ้าประชาชาตินั้น ซึ่งเราได้ประกาศต่อสู้พวกเขาแล้ว หันเสียจากความชั่วร้ายของพวกเขา เราก็จะกลับใจจากความร้ายที่เราได้คิดจะกระทำแก่พวกเขา

18:8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.

18:9 และถ้าเวลาใดก็ตามเราจะประกาศเกี่ยวกับประชาชาติหนึ่ง และเกี่ยวกับราชอาณาจักรหนึ่งว่า จะสร้างขึ้น และจะปลูกมันไว้

18:9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;

18:10 และถ้าประชาชาตินั้นได้กระทำความชั่วร้ายในสายตาของเรา ที่ประชาชาตินั้นไม่เชื่อฟังเสียงของเรา แล้วเราก็จะกลับใจจากความดีซึ่งเราได้กล่าวไปแล้วว่าเราจะทำให้เป็นประโยชน์แก่พวกเขา

18:10 If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.

18:11 เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้ จงไปกล่าวแก่คนยูดาห์และแก่ชาวกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม โดยกล่าวว่า ‘พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด เรากำลังก่อความร้ายไว้สู้พวกเจ้า และกำลังคิดแผนงานอย่างหนึ่งไว้สู้พวกเจ้า บัดนี้พวกเจ้าทุกคนจงหันกลับเสียจากทางชั่วร้ายของตน และจงทำให้บรรดาทางของพวกเจ้าและการกระทำทั้งหลายของพวกเจ้าดี’

18:11 Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.

18:12 และพวกเขาได้กล่าวว่า ‘ไม่มีความหวัง แต่พวกเราจะดำเนินตามแผนงานทั้งหลายของพวกเราเอง และพวกเราทุกคนจะกระทำตามเค้าความคิดแห่งใจอันชั่วร้ายของตน’

18:12 And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.

18:13 เพราะฉะนั้นพระเยโฮวาห์จึงตรัสดังนี้ว่า บัดนี้เจ้าทั้งหลายจงถามในท่ามกลางพวกคนต่างชาติว่า ผู้ใดเคยได้ยินสิ่งต่าง ๆ เช่นนี้บ้าง หญิงพรหมจารีแห่งอิสราเอลนั้นได้กระทำสิ่งที่น่าสยดสยองมาก

18:13 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.

18:14 คนจะละหิมะแห่งภูเขาเลบานอนซึ่งมาจากหน้าผาแห่งทุ่งนาหรือ หรือน้ำทั้งหลายที่ไหลเย็นจากสถานที่อีกแห่งหนึ่งจะถูกทอดทิ้งหรือ

18:14 Will a man leave the snow of Lebanon which cometh from the rock of the field? or shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken?

18:15 เพราะเหตุว่าประชากรของเราได้ลืมเราเสีย พวกเขาได้เผาเครื่องหอมแก่สิ่งไร้สาระ และพวกเขาได้ทำให้ตนเองสะดุดในทางทั้งหลายของพวกเขาจากบรรดาหนทางโบราณ เพื่อเดินในหนทางทั้งหลาย ในทางสายหนึ่งที่ไม่ได้ถูกทำขึ้น

18:15 Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up;

18:16 เพื่อทำให้แผ่นดินของพวกเขาเป็นที่รกร้าง และเป็นความเย้ยหยันเนืองนิตย์ ทุกคนที่ผ่านไปทางนั้นก็จะตกตะลึงและสั่นศีรษะของเขา

18:16 To make their land desolate, and a perpetual hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished, and wag his head.

18:17 เราจะกระจายพวกเขาไปเหมือนกับด้วยลมตะวันออกต่อหน้าศัตรู เราจะสำแดงให้พวกเขาเห็นหลัง และไม่ใช่ใบหน้า ในวันแห่งความหายนะของพวกเขานั้น”

18:17 I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will shew them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity.

18:18 แล้วพวกเขากล่าวว่า “มาเถิด และให้พวกเราสมคบคิดกันต่อสู้เยเรมีย์ เพราะว่าพระราชบัญญัติจะไม่พินาศไปจากปุโรหิต หรือคำปรึกษาจากนักปราชญ์ หรือถ้อยคำจากผู้พยากรณ์ มาเถิด และให้พวกเราฟาดฟันเขาด้วยลิ้น และอย่าให้พวกเราใส่ใจถ้อยคำใด ๆ ของเขาเลย”

18:18 Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

18:19 ขอทรงใส่ใจข้าพระองค์ โอ ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ ขอทรงตั้งใจฟังเสียงของคนทั้งหลายที่ต่อสู้กับข้าพระองค์

18:19 Give heed to me, O LORD, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me.

18:20 จะตอบแทนความดีด้วยความชั่วร้ายหรือ ด้วยว่าพวกเขาขุดหลุมไว้สำหรับชีวิตของข้าพระองค์ ขอทรงระลึกว่าข้าพระองค์ได้ยืนต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์เพื่อทูลขอความดีสำหรับพวกเขา และเพื่อจะหันพระพิโรธของพระองค์ไปเสียจากพวกเขา

18:20 Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them, and to turn away thy wrath from them.

18:21 เพราะฉะนั้นขอทรงมอบลูกหลานของพวกเขาให้แก่การกันดารอาหาร และเทโลหิตของพวกเขาให้ไหลออกด้วยอำนาจของดาบ และให้ภรรยาของพวกเขาขาดบุตรทั้งหลายของตน และเป็นพวกหญิงม่าย และขอให้ผู้ชายทั้งหลายของพวกเขาถูกประหารชีวิต ขอให้พวกนุ่ม ๆ ของพวกเขาถูกฆ่าเสียด้วยดาบในการสู้รบ

18:21 Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their blood by the force of the sword; and let their wives be bereaved of their children, and be widows; and let their men be put to death; let their young men be slain by the sword in battle.

18:22 ขอให้เสียงร้องถูกได้ยินมาจากบ้านทั้งหลายของพวกเขา เมื่อพระองค์จะทรงพากองทหารมาสู้กับพวกเขาอย่างฉับพลัน เพราะพวกเขาได้ขุดหลุมไว้เพื่อดักข้าพระองค์ และได้วางบรรดาบ่วงดักไว้สำหรับเท้าของข้าพระองค์

18:22 Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.

18:23 ถึงกระนั้น ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ พระองค์ทรงทราบการปองร้ายทั้งสิ้นของพวกเขาต่อสู้ข้าพระองค์เพื่อจะฆ่าข้าพระองค์เสีย ขออย่าทรงยกโทษให้ความชั่วช้าของพวกเขา หรือลบบาปของพวกเขาเสียจากสายพระเนตรของพระองค์ แต่ขอให้พวกเขาถูกคว่ำลงต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ ขอทรงจัดการกับพวกเขาเช่นนั้นในเวลาแห่งความโกรธของพระองค์

18:23 Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the time of thine anger.
