เมลคีเซเดคเป็นแบบอย่างของพระคริสต์
7:1 เพราะเมลคีเซเดคผู้นี้ เป็นกษัตริย์แห่งเมืองซาเล็ม เป็นปุโรหิตของพระเจ้าผู้สูงสุด ผู้ได้พบอับราฮัมขณะที่กำลังกลับมาจากการฆ่าฟันกษัตริย์ทั้งหลาย และได้อวยพรอับราฮัม

Melchisedec, Type of Christ
7:1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

7:2 อับราฮัมก็ได้ถวายของหนึ่งในสิบจากสิ่งของทั้งปวงแก่ท่านผู้นี้ ตอนแรกท่านผู้นี้แปลว่ากษัตริย์แห่งความชอบธรรม แล้วหลังจากนั้นกษัตริย์แห่งเมืองซาเล็มด้วย ซึ่งก็คือ กษัตริย์แห่งสันติสุข

7:2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

7:3 โดยปราศจากบิดา โดยปราศจากมารดา โดยปราศจากเชื้อสาย โดยไม่มีการเริ่มต้นแห่งวันทั้งหลาย หรือการสิ้นสุดของชีวิต แต่ถูกทำให้เป็นเหมือนพระบุตรของพระเจ้า ท่านดำรงตำแหน่งปุโรหิตคนหนึ่งอย่างต่อเนื่อง

7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

พวกปุโรหิตเผ่าเลวีได้ถวายสิบชักหนึ่งแก่เมลคีเซเดคโดยทางอับราฮัม
7:4 บัดนี้ จงพิจารณาว่า ท่านผู้นี้ยิ่งใหญ่เพียงไร ซึ่งแม้แต่อับราฮัมผู้เป็นต้นตระกูลนั้นยังได้ชักหนึ่งในสิบจากของริบทั้งหลายนั้นมาถวายแก่ท่าน

Levitical Priests in Abraham Gave Tithes to Melchisedec
7:4 Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

7:5 และแท้จริง คนทั้งหลายที่เป็นบรรดาบุตรชายของเลวี ผู้ซึ่งได้รับตำแหน่งปุโรหิตนั้น ก็ยังมีพระบัญชาให้รับบรรดาสิบชักหนึ่งจากประชากรตามพระราชบัญญัติ นั่นคือ จากพวกพี่น้องของตน ถึงแม้ว่าท่านเหล่านั้นได้บังเกิดจากบั้นเอวของอับราฮัม

7:5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

7:6 แต่ท่านผู้นี้ ผู้ซึ่งเชื้อสายของท่านมิได้ถูกนับจากคนเหล่านั้นที่ได้รับบรรดาสิบชักหนึ่งจากอับราฮัม และได้อวยพรอับราฮัมผู้ที่ได้รับพระสัญญาเหล่านั้น

7:6 But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

7:7 และโดยปราศจากความขัดแย้งทั้งสิ้น ผู้น้อยต้องรับพรจากผู้ใหญ่

7:7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

7:8 และที่นี่มนุษย์ที่ต้องตายยังได้รับบรรดาสิบชักหนึ่ง แต่ที่โน้นท่านผู้เดียวได้รับบรรดาสิบชักหนึ่งนั้น ซึ่งมีพยานกล่าวถึงท่านว่าท่านมีชีวิตอยู่

7:8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

7:9 และตามที่ข้าพเจ้าขอกล่าวว่า เลวีก็เช่นกัน ผู้ที่รับบรรดาสิบชักหนึ่งก็ยังได้ถวายบรรดาสิบชักหนึ่งในอับราฮัม

7:9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.

7:10 เพราะว่าเลวียังอยู่ในบั้นเอวของบรรพบุรุษของท่าน ขณะที่เมลคีเซเดคได้พบกับอับราฮัม

7:10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

ตำแหน่งปุโรหิตของพระคริสต์เหนือกว่าตำแหน่งปุโรหิตของอาโรน
7:11 เหตุฉะนั้นถ้าความบริบูรณ์มาโดยทางตำแหน่งปุโรหิตตามอย่างเผ่าเลวี (ด้วยว่าโดยทางตำแหน่งนี้ ประชากรได้รับพระราชบัญญัติ) มีความจำเป็นอันใดอีกที่ปุโรหิตอีกคนหนึ่งจะขึ้นมาตามอย่างเมลคีเซเดคเล่า และมิได้เรียกตามอย่างอาโรน

Christ's Priesthood Superior to Aaronic Priesthood
7:11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

7:12 เพราะเหตุตำแหน่งปุโรหิตได้ถูกเปลี่ยนแปลงไปแล้ว ก็จำเป็นจะต้องมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงพระราชบัญญัติไปด้วย

7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

7:13 เพราะว่าท่านที่สิ่งเหล่านี้ถูกกล่าวถึงนั้นก็เกี่ยวข้องกับเผ่าอื่น ซึ่งเป็นเผ่าที่ยังไม่มีผู้ใดเคยทำหน้าที่ปรนนิบัติที่แท่นบูชาเลย

7:13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

7:14 เพราะเป็นที่ชัดเจนว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของพวกเรานั้นได้ทรงเป็นขึ้นมาจากเผ่ายูดาห์ ซึ่งเผ่านั้นโมเสสไม่ได้กล่าวอะไรเลยเรื่องตำแหน่งปุโรหิต

7:14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

7:15 และสิ่งนี้ก็ยังชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้นอีก ด้วยว่าตามอย่างของเมลคีเซเดคจะมีปุโรหิตอีกผู้หนึ่งเกิดขึ้น

7:15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

7:16 ผู้ซึ่งถูกตั้งขึ้น มิใช่ตามพระราชบัญญัติแห่งบทบัญญัติสำหรับเนื้อหนัง แต่ตามฤทธิ์เดชแห่งชีวิตอันไม่รู้สิ้นสุดเลย

7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

7:17 เพราะพระองค์ทรงเป็นพยานรับรองว่า ‘ท่านเป็นปุโรหิตเป็นนิตย์ตามอย่างของเมลคีเซเดค’

7:17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

7:18 ด้วยว่าแท้จริงแล้ว พระบัญญัติที่มีอยู่เดิมนั้น ก็ได้ยกเลิกไป เพราะพระบัญญัตินั้นขาดฤทธิ์และไร้ประโยชน์

7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

7:19 เพราะว่าพระราชบัญญัตินั้นไม่ได้ทำอะไรให้ถึงความสำเร็จ แต่การนำความหวังอันดีกว่าเข้ามาได้ทำให้ถึงความสำเร็จ โดยความหวังนั้นพวกเราจึงเข้ามาใกล้พระเจ้า

7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

7:20 และโดยคำปฏิญาณ พระองค์จึงได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้เป็นปุโรหิต

7:20 And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:

7:21 (ด้วยว่าบรรดาปุโรหิตเหล่านั้นได้รับการแต่งตั้งโดยปราศจากคำปฏิญาณ แต่พระองค์ผู้นี้ได้รับการแต่งตั้งด้วยคำปฏิญาณโดยทางพระเจ้าที่ได้ตรัสแก่พระองค์ว่า ‘องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงปฏิญาณแล้ว และจะไม่เปลี่ยนพระทัยว่า “ท่านเป็นปุโรหิตเป็นนิตย์ตามอย่างของเมลคีเซเดค”’)

7:21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)

7:22 พระเยซูก็ได้ทรงถูกทำให้เป็นผู้รับประกันแห่งพันธสัญญาอันดีกว่าสักเพียงใด

7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

ปุโรหิตเผ่าเลวีถึงแก่ความตายหมด พระเยซูทรงดำรงอยู่เป็นนิตย์
7:23 และแท้จริงคนเหล่านั้นได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้เป็นปุโรหิตหลายคน เพราะว่าพวกเขาไม่สามารถดำรงอยู่ในตำแหน่งนั้นเรื่อยไปเพราะเหตุความตาย

Levitical Priests Died; Jesus Continues Forever
7:23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:

7:24 แต่มนุษย์ผู้นี้ เพราะเหตุที่พระองค์ดำรงอยู่เป็นนิตย์ จึงมีตำแหน่งปุโรหิตที่ไม่อาจเปลี่ยนแปลงได้

7:24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

7:25 ดังนั้น พระองค์จึงทรงสามารถเช่นกันที่จะช่วยคนทั้งปวงที่เข้ามาถึงพระเจ้าโดยทางพระองค์นั้นให้ได้รับความรอดเป็นนิตย์ โดยเห็นว่าพระองค์ทรงพระชนม์อยู่เป็นนิตย์เพื่อวิงวอนให้คนเหล่านั้น

7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

7:26 ด้วยว่ามหาปุโรหิตเช่นนี้แหละที่เหมาะสำหรับพวกเรา ผู้ทรงบริสุทธิ์ ปราศจากอุบาย ไร้มลทิน แยกจากคนบาปทั้งปวง และประทับอยู่สูงกว่าฟ้าสวรรค์ทั้งหลาย

7:26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

7:27 พระองค์ผู้ไม่ต้องทรงถวายเครื่องบูชาทุกวัน ๆ เหมือนอย่างมหาปุโรหิตเหล่านั้น ผู้ซึ่งถวายสำหรับบรรดาบาปของตัวเองก่อน และจากนั้นก็ถวายสำหรับประชากร เพราะพระองค์ได้ทรงถวายเครื่องบูชาเพียงครั้งเดียว เมื่อพระองค์ได้ทรงถวายพระองค์เอง

7:27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

7:28 ด้วยว่าพระราชบัญญัตินั้นแต่งตั้งมนุษย์ที่มีความอ่อนกำลังขึ้นเป็นมหาปุโรหิตหลายคน แต่คำทรงปฏิญาณนั้นซึ่งมาภายหลังพระราชบัญญัติ แต่งตั้งพระบุตรขึ้น ผู้ถึงความสำเร็จเป็นนิตย์

7:28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
