CHURCH PLANTING
The first priority of any mission endeavor must be church planting. Church planting produces
churches which are the local assembly and body of Christ for the believer.
Winning souls and encouraging new converts to attend the local church is
the only way of having fruit that remains. John 15:16
BIBLE TRANSLATION
The Lord laid upon our hearts the burden of translating the pure Word of God into the Thai language. When we first arrived in Thailand, Bibles available to the Thai people were the ASV, RSV and Good News for Modern Man. However, these versions
leave out much of the "meat" of the Word and are unacceptable to any true Bible believer.
Initially the King James Version of the New Testament was translated and printed in the Thai language. Twenty-four thousand copies were printed and used by the fundamental Baptist churches. Also, fifty thousand copies of a Thai John-Romans were printed by Bearing Precious Seed in El Paso, Texas and were sent to churches in Thailand for distribution.
The translation phase of this project was begun in 1983 and completed in the year 2001. Five thousand copies of the Thai KJV Bible were printed in 2003. Another 10,000 copies were printed in 2006 and an additional 10,000 copies were printed in 2007. Currently the BEAMS Ministry http://www.beamsbibles.com/ is raising funds to print another 15,000 copies. BIBLE INSTITUTE
Begun in 1988, the Baptist Bible Institute has filled the need for a conservative, fundamental, Bible-based Bible education. Graduates of this institute are now serving the Lord in Bangkok, Mae Sot, Nakhorn Phanom, Korat, Chainat and Chaiyaphum. Many others are now studying, both ministerial students and laymen. The curriculum is a verse by verse, in depth study of the Word of God, able to be completed in 3 years. Pray for the teachers and students that many more will be trained for the Lord's service.
CORRESPONDENCE COURSE
The “Light of Life” correspondence course, begun in 1983 with only 3 lessons, has now
expanded to 5 courses with 102 lessons. The first 4 courses are primarily for the unsaved,
while the final course covers growth in the Christian life and is for believers. Over 2800
people have enrolled in the course with over 900 people graduating. The course has
borne fruit with 780 people receiving Christ as their Savior.
TRACT MINISTRY
The Lord has blessed the tract ministry of our churches in Thailand. It is possible for one
person to stand on a sidewalk in Bangkok and distribute tracts at the rate
of 1000 per hour! Thai people are eager to receive the tracts and many
have contacted us for more information about Jesus Christ. Since beginning
tract distribution in 1978, over 2.5 million tracts have been distributed
nationwide with responses from more than 7200 people. Pray that God will
continue to bless the tract ministry.
